Virtual anniversary celebration on June 23 invites communities worldwide to be part of what’s next
Traverse City, MI – May 13, 2026– Impact100 Global is celebrating 25 years of redefining philanthropy through a simple but powerful idea: when women come together, they can create transformational change in their communities.
Since its founding in 2001, the Impact100 movement has grown to more than 80 chapters across four countries, with members collectively awarding more than $178 million in grants to local nonprofits as of the end of 2025. What began as a single chapter has evolved into a global movement that continues to expand into new communities each year.
Built on a model of one woman, one donation, one vote, Impact100 has helped make philanthropy more accessible, more transparent, and more impactful at the local level.
Over the past two decades, collective giving has become one of the most dynamic areas of philanthropy, with thousands of giving circles now active worldwide, according to Philanthropy Together. Research from Stanford PACS shows that participation in giving circles increases generosity, engagement, and long-term commitment to community impact.
Impact100 was an early pioneer of this approach and continues to demonstrate its effectiveness across diverse communities.
“This model works because it combines trust, transparency, and collective decision-making,” said Wendy Steele, founder of Impact100. “Women see exactly where their dollars go, they have an equal voice in the process, and together they are able to fund projects that truly change lives.”
Each year, members contribute $1,000, which is pooled into large, transformational grants, often $100,000 or more, awarded through a rigorous and inclusive review process. The result is funding that communities can see and feel, paired with an experience that empowers women as philanthropists and leaders.
To mark this milestone, Impact100 Global will host a virtual 25th Anniversary Celebration on June 23, 2026, bringing together members, nonprofit partners, and supporters from around the world.
The event will reflect on the movement’s collective impact, share stories from communities, and look ahead to the next chapter of growth.

Women are drawn to the clarity, the connection, and the ability to make a meaningful difference together,” said Laurie Sheehan, Impact Expansion Specialist and President of Impact100 Atlanta. “After 25 years, this model is not slowing down. It is continuing to grow and reach new communities every year.”
