Center for Trauma Counseling (CTC) meets the need for equity in essential mental healthcare by expanding access and affordability of these services to ALL Palm Beach County residents, particularly the most marginalized by barriers to care. CTC has been very successful in creating a network of partnerships to help more than 500 individuals each year. CTC’s community partnerships include local and state agencies as well as organizations that support the homeless, battered women, victims of crime and violence, abused and abandoned children, young adults, veterans and the elderly. Impact100’s grant made possible CTC’s most progressive service access expansion to date, The Mobile Hope Clinic (MHC), Palm Beach County’s very first traveling counseling center. The MHC is a 40ft passenger bus, fully customized for providing on-site mental health services, and is central to this service access expansion initiative. It allows us to bring services to more residents who would otherwise be deprived due to barriers to care. Bigger picture, Impact100’s funding of this initiative quite literally means the difference between someone being able to receive desperately needed mental healthcare services or not at all. Impact100’s grant made all the difference in forwarding our core objectives of expanding access to mental healthcare and increasing mental healthcare equity for hundreds more Palm Beach County residents each year. Working with Impact100 was unique because all the members live and work within the local community and genuinely have a personal interest in positively impacting the community through the initiatives they support. They made the entire process very supportive and inclusive and showed sincere interest in the development and success of our initiative.
