Impact100 South Jersey— with its diverse membership, rigorous process, and thoughtful engagement—is of and for the community.
Hopeworks’ unique mix of training, trauma-informed care, and real-world experience lead to extraordinary results. Hopeworks starts with progressive technical training in front-end web development as well as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data visualization, high-demand skills that companies need. We then help our youth develop the social and emotional skills to not just get those high-wage jobs, but keep them. A unique combination of career readiness coaching, academic success coaching, and a strong community commitment to healing and progress means that youth can find a place to succeed.
Hopeworks also runs real businesses, providing real-world experience and technology solutions for businesses in web design, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data visualization. Youth who complete the program make, on average, over $37,000 annually, with an almost 90% 12-month retention rate in their jobs. When Impact100 South Jersey awarded Hopeworks its grant, they made a transformative investment in young people. The investment expanded our space and capacity to increase both the number and effectiveness of services we provide.
Thanks to the transformative support of Impact100 South Jersey, Hopeworks youth have not only been able to survive but thrive during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even as our communities were decimated by massive layoffs, Hopeworks alumni maintained an almost 90% job retention rate.
Working with Impact100 South Jersey is different for one key reason—partnership. Partnership, collaboration, and community involvement are built into their very structure. Impact100 South Jersey is not a “funder” or “philanthropic organization.” Impact100 South Jersey—with its diverse membership, rigorous process, and thoughtful engagement—is of and for the community.
